I notice that the City of Bellingham is now airing this propaganda on BTV-10, the City funded TV station.
http://www.beforeyouenlist.org/The City describes it in their programming schedule as "The real deal before enlisting". It is airing almost every evening this week.
I'm having a hard time understanding how this can be done. It is clearly one-sided, and not really a "public service". Should my tax dollars be used like this? I don't support it, and find it insulting, not because of the spin, but because I just don't understand why it's the City's job to broadcast this stuff. This program does not present anything close to a "balanced perspective" (on what is a national issue) that should be a standard for local government broadcasting. (I should say here the city does produce some pretty decent - although sometimes cheesy - local informational programming.)
Who makes these decisions? The mayor? (just wondering)
Below is the list of organizations that put this video together. Google searches on these groups result in everything from mainstream peace organizations to Palestinian groups to Communists. Again I ask, who is making the programming decisions for the City-run TV programming?
